On the ferry, seen more Aston Martins here than in my lifetime anywhere else. Ferrari's, porsche's, and many other special cars.

Awesome..... Le Mans... 'ere we come

Race is live on channel 413 motors TV, Dave could have stayed at home and watched it.

Just got off ferry. Awesome weekend. Gavin... you would love it.

Seen more Aston Martins and performance cars on the ferry than what I've seen all my life.

honestly Gavin, you really have to go next yr... its just your thing. 24 hrs drinking, sleep when you fall asleep, non stop cars screeming round, radio le mans so u don't miss a thing, more campers than Butlins worldwide inc. I've never been to anything like it. (wanted to go for yrs.... now I'm going again..)

Awesome report in the oily rag Dave.

My personal highlights were....

...started in Birmingham and in the car down to portsmouth with a few cans for the journey

joe_the_waiter wrote:
what I didnt know was "le Mans" is an endurance drinking affair...the race is only there for added entertainment

joe_the_waiter wrote:
We boarded and went straight to the bar

having fun entertaining motorsport clients with drinking games, which i joined in with

Me, even after 12 hours of non stop drinking, was glowing at all the bottles of 1664........this was one party ship

joe_the_waiter wrote:
the whole ferry resembled the morning after a new years eve party.....I gave up looking for my seat and returned to the bar

joe_the_waiter wrote:
A one legged frenchman on a cycle seemed to enjoy getting water pistoled

joe_the_waiter wrote:
I found one of those industrial waste bins.....we all climbed on top of our new VIP viewing area

joe_the_waiter wrote:
I stayed up through the night visiting bars

joe_the_waiter wrote:
i went to my tent at around 7am...I was back up up at 9am and after some breakfast and another beer I was back at the track

joe_the_waiter wrote:
Once in Caen we went into a bar......on the ferry I decided on an early night so only drank til 3am

First thing i did when I got home...opened a bottle of beer

A worrying trend their Dave mate but put me down 110% to be your drinking partner next year!!! It sounds truely epic!!

it seems like 'all' the report made your highlights. I could of written more but wanted to keep it short enough for people not to get too bored reading it.
saw the one legged frenchman again at a bar later on...... he was a bit worse the wear with drink and for reasons unknown to me, he threw his bike away and hobbled off with his crutches cursing in french.
I think you'd be hard pushed having as much fun at any other motorsport event.

I was going to organise a group trip for this yr, but apparently, its normally sold out by november & I wasn't feeling rich late last year & to be honest, it wasn't in the forefront of my mind.

definitely racing in British 24hrs again tho. This year the team will be far better prepared  (tho you can't prepare for 2 engine failures, clutch failure & complete brake failure can you?).
