I especially enjoyed this months articles of the whistleblower and the report from the lads who camped out on the Border counties cos they're just such rally fans.

But you still felt guilty enough to respond  .

Just think of the articles we'll get "marshalling around the globe" or "Lonely planet- the marshals guide".

Bitter, me, nooooo.

Over 120 copies of each issue of the Oily Rag are sent out which means that if everyone who gets a copy wrote only one article a year the Editor would have a minimun of 10 articles per month to fill future editions- and in addition there would be lots of points scored for the club championship.

Preparing and editing the newsletter is a difficult job so let's all help the Editor by giving him plenty of stuff to work with.  I know he would really appreciate this!!

whilst I agree with your logic Mike, that would require 10 different events as well to get us 10 unique pieces every month.

Which is normally achieved by the people in the club. Plus it doesn't have to be about a current/ recent event, you could write about all the events you have done in the past.............oh

Not at all.  you implicated me by referring to 'The Whistle Blower'.

There may be good reason to highlight the need for effort by club members to keep the club running well, but pointing the finger at someone who does more than most is wrong and will prove counter productive. I have only been a member of this club for 3 1/2 years but have put a huge amount of time and cost into it.  Chief Marshal for the CHR for last three years, Chief Marshal for ToH last year and this, Creating the maps and making many revisions on ToH, Designing, creating and running the websites for CHR, ToH and now the club website, creator and organiser of the Guy Wilks night, marshaling at around 15 events per year and taking the club banners along for the promotion of the club on most, plus being available to help with other club events.
I won the club championship in 2007 and came second last year through gaining points from things i have done, yet did not include points for the huge hours i spend creating the websites. To implicate me when refering to club members not doing enough or even that i havent written an article for the Oily Rag is disgraceful.

Its strange when people in other Motor Clubs recognise my efforts more than members of SDMC
