Just a thought after a run out i had last weekend. I thought it was time to give my new Skoda a run out and fancied a blast over the pennines. After a scenic lunch halt at High Force we carried on up the B6277 to Alston, once you are out of High Force there was barely a soul on the road so you could enjoy the open road for once. At Alston we took a left tun for Penrith and the road climbs to 1900 feet. At the very top there was a cafe invaded by about three hundred bikes (no joke), and the road immediately descends round hairpins and sweeping curves for about ten miles. This would have been good but there was a strong police & biker presence here, even so i still enjoyed it.
So, where's your most recent drive been ????

| Haven't you heard of Hartside cafe before? It's a famous biker run up the hill and back down the other side. |

Had a fantastic drive on 5 April - decided to do Yorkshire 3Peaks (doing national ones at end of May!)
Set off from mine at 5.08 and drove through to Horton-in-Ribblesdale - only traffic was 1 lorry on A1, a landy near Hawes and apart from that, the road belonged to me - all mine - got to Horton exhillarated at 6.48 and set off up Pen-y-gent at 7.08am.
drive home was similar story apart from colliding with poor Mr Wabbit and having to sit behind a flamin X5 who thought he owned the road at 20mph
Oh - I completed the 3 peaks if anyone's interested in 11hrs 50mins - although would have done it quicker were it not for a nice pub and lunch stop - well - I had to have me cider to keep me on track. |

| Don't feel so guilty about Mr Wabbit, my Triumph claimed a few as it is only inches off the ground! |

The Antrim coast road from Belfast up to Bushmills. You can get yourself onto some of the classic Circuit of Ireland roads, stunning scenary and a nice drop of whiskey at the end of it!
