Ha Ha!! I had actually asked Martin to change my number before I had
realised it was the winning kart . Number 13 was always my
chosen number in years gone by and has normally brought me good luck
- unlike No2 which has brought my worst string of results for a long time!

lol kart 1 was hardly quick today as i was mugged off the start by about 7 people due to very poor acceleration... even the stig allen passed me !!!! after the race stewards gave away my grid position to someone else.

I saw that, thought it was a bit strange how they squashed you in!
At least you have the pride of that coveted No 1 on the nose of your kart!
Mind you, this will be your last time for at least a year as class B will be
the overall champ this time - I've checked the points and you must take
maximum points with both class B drivers retiring to retain that prized
Number 1!

The 2010 SDMC kart championship - As it stands:

Class A

Chris Roe                      36 Points      0 to drop
Malcolm McPhie              30   "           2 to drop
Colin Peacock                28   "           1 to drop
John Gaskin                   28   "           0 to drop

Class B

Ahmed Sabir                  57 Points      8 to drop
Johnny Mawer                48   "            5 to drop

Ahmed is in a very strong position for class B with the class B winner
almost certain to take overall honours. Only a points max from Chris Roe
with Ahmed retiring with Johnny taking only 6 points would see a class A
overall champ for only the second time!
However, take a look at class A and you will see that it is very close
with all 4 drivers capeable of winning a race outright!
   Roll on round 6!!!

As the coveted number 1 is almost certain to be lost i couldn't be more happier than to see it go to Ahmed who i spent all last season racing against. At the start of the year he told me that he was going to take my Class B title and i told him he'd better lol.... little did i think he would be on his way to pocket all my titles from last year But you can rest assured i will be one of the first to congratulate him if he on his fantastic season if he does.

I would be happy to see Ahmed as champion but I don't want to put him
under too much pressure for round 6. All you have to do Ahmed is: Don't
crash, Don't break down, Don't let anyone past you, Don't let Dave crash
in front of you, Etc, Etc!!

Dave couldn't crash in the same way 3 times could he? I mean lightning never strikes twice.......

Anyway I am going to by him a canary since he spends all his time in the pit.

Crashes usually happen when you're on the limit - it proves he was trying!

Dear fellow racers,
Simon Harrison (SRH Photography) will be present at
round 6 of our championship to take pictures of the four championship
contenders in class A and the two in class B prior to the race on Sunday.
Would the following drivers please be available for 11.30 in full racesuit
with helmets for a photo at the signing on cabin:

Chris Roe
Malcolm McPhie
Colin Peacock
John Gaskin
Ahmed Sabir
Johnny Mawer

Also, Simon will be taking photo's at various points of the circuit during
practice and the race. This may be the last time that Simon will be able
to do official photo's so please consider ordering prints for yourselves -
they are well worth it, very high quality and crystal clear!

I agree, Simon's photo's are excellent (way better than my efforts). It is a shame that he can no longer continue on a regular basis but his work for us has been excellent across the last 4 or 5 years.

As Colin says snap up some pics before it's too late!
