It will cost £900 per team so please have the cash to back up your words !!!! We have participated in the last two races and all drivers have praised the event for it's enjoyment and sense of occasion, it really is a great event and i look forward to hearing from fellow team members soon !

Dont start bigging up the camper again....  you know how it can all go wrong.   besides...  Ste has provided good race hospitality over the last two years and at least he's there for tahe duration.   If you offer the camper... would yopu be there from Thursday evening till Sunday afternoon permanant?????    i prefer the current arrangement.. feels more reliable somehow
Gav Taylor

thats why your in Ste Allens b team dave.

FMEA all the way captain... taught at high level at uni!

Camper Van now fighting fit and has already been on a weekend in York without fault.

JTW aka the Kosovan.
joe_the_waiter

B Team ????   Gav... Ste has done a good job of running our team last two years...   we have a very professional set up...   its the A Team if you ask me. We were the only team to have radio's to communicate round the circuit. The first team to use lights, the first (poss only team) to use on board video camera. Only team to be measuring lap times and informing the driver via Quality pit board on a lap by lap basis. Poss the quickest driver changes. one of the biggest team 'pit areas'. YES... we are the A TEAM... anyone else is just following in our footsteps.

besides... what makes you think Martin would have you on his team???
bob_mck

Gav, i really wouldnt use the camper if i were you
it may only need one AA truck but its just not worth it!!
Gav Taylor

joe_the_waiter wrote:

F**k it then i'll save my money for spending money on my hols.

Good luck to all involved

steaallan

well you should have no problem getting there it will be daylight so you could always use the camper
club sec

I thought there was a Capri and Focus at hand, so what's the problem?
Gav Taylor

capri is on axle stands getting waxoiled in the garage, the ST is off down to Wakey for the weekend.

My mother tonight said she will be a guarantor up to 10K if I want to buy a car so I'm going to look at a few WRX STI's over the weekend, the vec is getting old man.

Cheers Motha!! ...last port of call when you f*ck your credit rating during 4 years of hedonistical partying at university.
skodaman

Hey Gav, i'll come n pick you up if you like, we don't like people chickening out you know! Like i said, it's only 17pints you have to sacrifice
Gav Taylor

very kind Col, but save your petrol big lad, and go for the podium 2mora
club sec

Gav Taylor- loser before the season began
Gav Taylor

wasnt competing in this championship to start with Sec, if anything it would be for leisure & enjoyment
club sec

To be a competitor you have to compete.
skodaman

You won't get a cheaper form of motorsport Gav. You turn up, race, then hand the kart back - simple as that, no repair bills !!!
skodaman

? My name is not there as i was of the understanding that the 'whole amount' now had to be paid. yet some havent even paid a deposit. Surely this is unfair as had i known, i could of paid that required deposit by mid June. so why dont i have the same opportunity?
club sec

You still do and always have, the oppurtunity. Just give Colin some cash.
steaallan

unfortunatly due to unforseen cicumstances Brian naylor has had to pull out of the 24hr.
Ahmed Sabir , Atilla Sabir and myself are fully paid up please could everyone else follow suit and get the money to colin in one form or another thankyou

Did we ever get a straight answer from Emspem about the 24 hours?

steaallan

Straight answer - what do you mean? - I aint bent

I'm karting with either a girlie team or if that doesn't come off with my car club team

Was at Teesside yesterday - am aching today - forgot how physical it all is - dead rusty as haven't karted since the 24hr!

If anyone is interested we have a practice session booked on Sun 9  Aug at Teesside for Iron man - need to get over 10 drivers for good price deal- anyone up for it?
joe_the_waiter

Emily Spemily....  isnt it way past your bedtime???  not seen you online this late before.

EmSpem   team manager and Circuit promoter.

i would love to be there... but i cant even afford to be in the team this year
club sec

I don't know if anyone will be able to do it Em, with the race on the July 26th & the 24h it all gets a bit expensive.
EmSpem

Ahaa but it won't be as expensive as you may think... kinda got a deal if we can get enough drivers - all hinges on nos though

Cost is main reason why haven't been able to kart since race but I'm way off pace due to weight and rusty-ness so thought I'd best get my ass down for at least one practice before biggie

Well if anyone is interested - drop me a pm and if not I'll see you guys at the race
club sec

Put some ball park prices up and see what the craic is.
EmSpem

club sec wrote:

Not sure whether it should be public knowledge as it's a 'deal' but anywhere between £35 and £45 obviously cheaper if there's more people but shhhh don't tell anyone

Just read message. Might be able to make your race, you can never get too much practice. SDMC have high hopes for the 24hr race this year! Karting next Sunday in Malcolm's mini-enduro race.

Brian Naylor                                    Attilla Sabir
Jason Smith

The above line ups are final and almost paid in full

As for the pitboards, anything with a Skoda badge gets noticed

club sec

club sec

steaallan

Team 2.5
steaallan

24hr

Well myself and Bob have been out in training today for the 24hr race and we dragged Dave along with us so we didn’t look that bad . We decided to go cycling round Dalby forest on the red mountain bike route which was tough and rather rough in places But seriously I certainly need to get fit after all I haven’t been on a bike for over 2 years. I managed to do about 15-16 miles of the 23 miles and dave managed about 10 of them but the hero that some say they call the Hoff (Bob) did all 23 miles (what a superstar)

joe_the_waiter

info for karting practice tomorrow 9th August 2009.

Emspem has organised an Ironman event for the purposes of testing for the 24hr race. Race starts at 10.30am so be there for 10am. Cost is £35 per person as long as the numbers are more than ten. That is likely as she has about 17 interested persons from her group of friends and i think a few of SDMC are going also.
steaallan

15 entries for the race including bob and myself was a very hot tough race i qualified 2nd and bb in forth where he finished and i finished 5 due to bad couple of laps due to cold tyres even though i managed to get in the lead before the first corner

as you can see my pit crew didnt have much to do

club sec

Ste you really are a karting junkie.
EmSpem

I've just typed a really long response in here and when I clicked on submit it disappeared Grrrrrrr

Anyhow - here we go again...

A big thanks to Dave for ringing me and sorting out what was what.

Sorry I didn't post any more details about the karting on the forum - I didn't think anyone was interested and also I haven't been on for a while so didn't realise there was interest so sorry again and thank you Dave.

Thank you to Ste et al for joining us.  It was a great race - times were very tight - it was intense but I didn't enjoy the heat - hope it's not like that in a couple of weeks time - it'll be unbearable!

Was really pleased with how I did even with my placing.  I'm back up on form so it shows that practice really does make all the difference

See all you guys at the 24hr - and thanks again
club sec

Results? Qualifying times? Full race report?
Gav Taylor

EmSpem wrote:

and thank you Dave.

Cassanova JTW now he's single again.

Always a hidden motive lol.
club sec

She's already had to change her number and move house.
steaallan

unfortunatly there was no names to go with the results as a lot of people had to change karts at the start as for times virtually everyone was pretty quick majority within 3 secs of fastest which was 50 1/2 secs
EmSpem

Yup it was such a tight race - I unfortunately left the data sheet on the table - kicked myself later as I usually keep them so I can chart my progress (or lack thereof)

There were no incidents - a couple of people were sick - one of them was going to kart in the girlie team for 24hr but is now off since she tried to go back on but was ill yet again - motion sickness!!!!!

But apart from ill drama that was that - solid racing the whole time
steaallan

em if you let me know your kart number i should be able to tel you your times as for been sick they shouldnt worry about that, the first race i did last nov i was still on medication for my back and i was physicly sick 3 times in the race but competitive as i am i didnt stop i just swallowed it and no it didnt taste good (incidently i finished 15 out of 19)
Gav Taylor

steaallan wrote:

up there with paula radcliffe shitting herself halfway through the london marathon Ste
steaallan

when needs must you gotta just get on with it, by the way are you showing your face at the 24hr
Gav Taylor

I'll be in the lakes that weekend unforunately Ste son.
EmSpem

I was kart no 10!

She doesn't wanna risk it as shes got to come all the way from south wales so since the practice didn't go well it's not worth the hassle of driving up only to let the team down and be ill again so she's relinquished her place - We have enough now anyway so it doesn't matter - hey we've done it with 3 we'll do it again
steaallan

Em you finished 9th  did 40 laps and your best was 52.525 on lap 30 and 78.340kmh which was very good as myself and Bobs lap which was exactly the same got 51.796
steaallan

Well the training is still going strong last night went swimming did about 1 hr 20mins. Been doing sit ups and press ups every night and improving all the time i can now do 3 of each, so now beat that if you can YEAH! Another bike ride over the moors is planned on Sat so if anyone fancys it or they think they can keep up.
EmSpem

steaallan wrote:

Cheers for that - 9th sounds rubbish but I'm well chuffed with my pace so that's all that matters - all i can say is the competition was great

Still no training done    - I'd have loved to come out but my bike's out of action at the mo - snapped chain and puncture that  I've not had the chance to sort - oh and there's the small matter of not being able to get the bike in the car rofl
steaallan

If you fancy coming out on sat let us know where you are i can fix your chain and puncture is easy to sort i think dave is coming so somebody will pick you up you can get my number of dave or pm me
club sec

need to make certain we get photos of the full race squads and the karts before the race.
