Flying ScotsmanIf you have chance, I would recommend going to see the 50 pre-war cars in this event when it passes tomorrow (Sunday).
Go to www.endurorally.com to get times and locations. You might have to follow the first car to find a good stretch (preferably uphill), and then soak up the sight, sounds and smells of these classics.
You will struggle to see more 1930's Bentleys in one go and the absolute star car is a 1905 Gordon Bennet which is a full on 10 litre (yes - 10 litre) racing car which was probably an "F1" car of it's day. The sound of that car is worth a trip on it's own.

Passed a couple of Dutch fellas coming down the A19 on Friday night, they were both kitted out like biggles in something with headlights as big as a house but no indicators.

I saw them in Barnard Castle for the time control ran by durham MC, then on over Stanhope Moor - the Ford was closed as usual now.
Mint - hats off to the crews in the 1925 chain driver beastie and the 6.5l bentley open tops for the whole event mint.
more of a reliability run with a few tests and timed road sections but still credit to the cres and the cars for making it round.
Beamish trial on 21st June - can sit outside the pub to watch that one......!!!
