Whats wrong with my car then (apart from it being a vectra)was driving down a 30 road tonight coming back Tesco's heard a metal thump and this is the result
should be like this.....
looks as though the bottom part that hold the bottom of the spring has smashed what do you boys reckon....
on the plus side the checkout girl at Tesco's gave me her number as i was packing my shopping

you could always have a word with the waiter to see if he has a spring compressor and do it with you

Buttons to fix mate and some new ones might even tighten the old girl up 
We have some spring compressors somewhere though doing Funbob's good ladies Focus the other week smart arse Slippy thought he could get away without using them, big mistake, only lady luck stopped me getting my teeth caved in as the strut top and spring whistled over my shoulder

so is it just a case of compress spring, undo bolts remove strut put new ones back in?

Slip I never knew your girl had so many 6 ft 6 black men as friends, they must have hectic jobs if they can only come over on a wednesday when you at footy like. Full marks to them for making the effort I say. many wouldnt.
she must crack a few jokes while they're in there cos they always come out smiling!
