"BBC F1 presenting team will be composed of M Brundle alongside BBC Radio Five Live Jonathan Legard in the commentary booth, David Coulthard and Jake Humphrey fronting the programme in the studio and Lee McKenzie reprising the roles of Louise Goodman and Ted Kravitz as pit-lane reporter."
"The BBC is sticking to a significantly lower budget than did ITV, the intention is to keep Coulthard and Humphrey studio-based in London during grand prix weekends, though how this will fit in with the latter's prior commitments as a consultant for RBR remains to be seen."
........Told you all..... BBC will be crap in comparison... They ruined it, then ITV came along and doubled the investment... quitw how BBC will match up is anyones guess... but i suspect we'll lose live qualifying on some events (remember BBC only ever shown live qualifying for British GP).
Remember Murray walker doing commentary over the phone from a London studio for Australasian races....? in fact.. they sent no-one to them races. Australian GP only shown live a few times. Japan GP only shown live once...
Everyone forgets how bad BBC were... well, looks like its back to substandard coverage.... One pit lane reporter to cover a pit lane of half a kilometer.... Studio based in UK.. (no proper after race chats with team members etc). _________________ 2007 STOCKTON & DISTRICT MOTOR CLUB CHAMPION |

Voted BBC because I fuc**ng hate all the adverts every 5 minutes, just ruins the whole coverage. _________________

rather have live coverage with adverts that highlights with none.
BBC are shit... they used to show the WRC ..... 15 mins coverage a week after it happened. except when tennis was on and you waited two weeks.
lets document this now....
ITV coverage...
Live Qualifying which includes bout an hour warm up.
Live GP2 main race
complete Repeat of Qualifying
Live GP2 sprint race
Live race coverage with one hour warm up
Highlight show of F1 race on evening
Repeated throughout the week
Will be back to this thread in April. _________________ 2007 STOCKTON & DISTRICT MOTOR CLUB CHAMPION |

Live Qualifying which includes bout an hour warm up. 1 hour warm up of mostly drivvle, can do without it
Live GP2 main race ??? why waste my time watching that I tuned in to watch an F1 race
complete Repeat of Qualifying no need
Live GP2 sprint race never seen this ever before???
Live race coverage with one hour warm up fairly good no complaints, but why drop 5 different advert slots? Ok if you have the shits nothing more.
Highlight show of F1 race on evening Ok if I've been to pub but even so by that time you've called/texted me the results anyway
Repeated throughout the week again no need if it was on BBC I can watch it on Iplayer
Will be back to this thread in April. Like a bout of gonorrhea |

Haven't really watched F1 for years cos it's usually so boring - end of last season & this season has renewed my interest.
The adverts on ITV are annoying - plus point for BBC.
GP2 races are usually better to watch than F1 cos those guys are all trying so hard, often driving quicker than their talents allow - presumably BBC will show these races on the Red Button like they show 125 & 250cc races on MotoGP weekends ?
Brundle & Coulthard as resident experts - sounds good to me.
Think that BBC will show the F1 races live cos they have paid a fair bit of dosh for the contract ?
Sounds as though I am becoming a circuit fan again - even took Ryan to sunny Oulton Park last Saturday instead of Trackrod !
Might have to change my name to Roundy Roundy Dave (still RRD) |
