Any contingents from the SMDC assemblage getting involved?
I know Dave is going over with Big Steve to have a marshal.
I hope to be over for a gander but need to travel from the rally straight to Leeds for a party on the sat night which will make it a very long day but a cracking one nonetheless.
Anyone else fancy a slice?

any room for a tiny tent by the side of the van like? If I could travel over the night before it would make the party in leeds on the sat a sh1t load easier?! _________________

B&Bs are utter shite I would never stay in one.
The thought of paying for a room in someones house who you dont even know to me is simply wierd and as such I have never stopped in nor do I plan to for the rest of my life.
Its either a full on hotel or tent and nowt in between.
These days its only a tenner more to stop in a hotel anyway compared to a tacky B&B _________________

b&b's are very nice places, I stay in many in the lakes, nicer than many hotels, but for rallying..... not the done thing. in yer car in the forest.... few beers, wake up and cook the bacon & eggs.... that's rallying. not sure where we'll be yet, but will let you know
besides..... pikeys have caravans...... another no no for rallying _________________ 2007 STOCKTON & DISTRICT MOTOR CLUB CHAMPION |

good event the wilson...just a shame about the long road section to Grizedale and back. I enjoy the big dipper on Wythop...flat out for those with big B**** yipeeeeeeeeeeeee
Go for the climb to the top of Comb - youll get altitude sickness but its well worth it for the experience and the view.....might even snow on you.
If you need map ref let me know.
As for B&B Gav you ar right for say 70% of them but the other 25% are gooda and probably 10 % of them are mint...we use them all over when stage rallying....a budget for 6 at £26 er night - and from two years of ANCRO/BRC/BTRDA only had one poor one.
Hotels are usually better but that extra tenner and likley to have no brekkie included x6 can buy a forest tyre!

the big dipper as you call it Steve is where I marshaled last year. we normally spectate there. year before, we saw a cars bonnet come up while flat out along that section... almost drove off the edge, took few of us 10 mins to get him back on.... another metre to the right and he would have gone the journey.
"fresh air" has to be one of the great corners in rallying. need balls to give it licks round there. would of loved to of seen the big boys fully comitted on RAC doing that, but I always went to Comb on those days.
Gav, we marshaling at comb or wythop on morning, catch all of Greystoke 2 in afternoon. you can then join M6, A65 in good time. _________________ 2007 STOCKTON & DISTRICT MOTOR CLUB CHAMPION |

I am having a few weeks off before the start of the sprint season and enjoying the first free weekend since Christmas-bliss.
Also have to make amends for being 200+ miles away on Valentines _________________

Spot on Dave,
which stage will we be marshalling on (will give me a start on the club championship table)
I will pop up to hamsterley this weekend to stock up on logs for the fire pit but there again if we are sleeping in the forest i will just pack my axe and save the petrol! _________________
