Whilst watching the affore mentioned TV show (set in 1981) I noticed the red Audi used by Gene Hunt was a later model, however I thought how ironic would it be if that were Joe the Waiters missing car!

I wasn't sure what year yours was/ is but I knew the one in the TV show was later than an '81. When they first came out they were in horrible gold metallic and other naff colours......I'd still have one though.
Noticed a Dialynx SWB has recently sold on piston heads for £29K, if I had seen it whilst up for grabs I might have had to sell my soul to buy it. _________________

don't worry Gav, the tracing process has begun.... news as it happens.
They did do Quattro in red when it was first released in UK, was 'mars red'. then the very smart 'Tornado red' came about '84
maybe mine is the one which has been modified by AM cars into a rally car for the BTRDA series...... ? now where's that log book....???? _________________ 2007 STOCKTON & DISTRICT MOTOR CLUB CHAMPION |

Audi 90 used same windscreen as UR q and coupe. Sport q used windscreen (& modifiied door angles) from Audi 80. Audi 90 was not available when sport q came along ('83) _________________ 2007 STOCKTON & DISTRICT MOTOR CLUB CHAMPION |

windscreen angle was changed because in sunlight, the dash would reflect off the windscreen (problem I always had) and rally drivers complained of it, funny really..... that they went to extremes to solve the problem when nowadays, they just make the dash matt black.... _________________ 2007 STOCKTON & DISTRICT MOTOR CLUB CHAMPION |

Rally heaven!
the incessant throb of the engine peppered with the wastegate blowing kisses...quite simply awesome!!!
I spend this afternoon in Hamsterley forest walking the very tracks that S1 blasted over many moons ago...if only I had been there then!!! _________________
