That Alpine Renault A110 was just fantastic. I was absolutely gutted when it went passed us at Cliffe Hall with a broken exhaust. Knowing the afternoon tests were all at Croft, it was obvious it wasn't going to be allowed out unless the exhaust could be fixed. A real shame that. Anyway, here is is at Barton's ford.
Cheers,
Simon. _________________ Simon Harrison

Mint pictures.
The guy in the Alpine was a bit upset at not being able to run in the afternoon, perhaps last year he might have been allowed back on (with a blind eye turned) but no chance this year with the noise police out in force. |

Some positive comments on BR Forum - well done everybody.
The morning Test at Croft was brill to drive (but a bit chilly to marshal). Too much grip on the track meant not enough handbrake turn action in Mrs RRD's Astra although we got it working on the broken concrete run-off area by the esses at the back of the circuit. We had a pair of gravel tyres in the boot just in case the snow came early !
Glad to hear that the mini traveller crew were un-hurt (apart from the wallet) - that's why you need scrutineers to check that cars are basically safe to use. |

First of all thank you for all the hard work involved in organising Sunday's event. The problems that Croft Circuit has will I'm sure hang over all the events scheduled to take place there in the future and there may be a question over the viability of the venue and will all costs rise significantly in future? Whatever happens the principals of noise will hang over us all in future when the nimbys get their way.
It was a real treat to have the luxurious facilities of the Football Stadium for the start and finish. I think all organisers would love to have such facilities and for us at least it is so easy to access. We were giving the Tiger a shakedown as it is early days in shaping it up as a rally car and the XK150 is being stripped for another rebuild. We are big car people and know that we will never compete against Escorts, Minis and Sprites on tests and accept that this will always be the case. We can hold our own on regularities and navigation which can even things out a bit but will never make us winners against the nimble cars. Nevertheless I think Classic rallies would be the poorer for having only the nimble potential winners taking part and the events would struggle to be viable.

Have to agree that Darlo FC is most luxurious start / finish venue I have ever experienced in motorsport.
Although Ripon town centre on a Saturday evening is also good start venue (for St Wilfs) ! |

I thought that I had seen "Mr MadVideo" wandering around before the start in his trademark faded hi-vis coat. He has a good CHR taster on the website :

Message from Croft circuit.
Just a quick note to advise £424.50 was donated last Sunday at your event in aid of St Teresa's Hospice.
Many thanks to all those who donated.
