| Because I've been there and got the T-Shirt without having to enter another country, sometimes not even another county. |

well ive been there and got loads of T shirts... but still like to wear them.
at least when it comes back up here... i wont be going just cause its local....
I've been to every single one since 1989 and followed them all on every day. Even when it was not a round of WRC and was F2 only in 1996.
having already been... isnt really a reason to no longer go if you are a rally fan. |

I don't see the appeal of WRC they abuse the marshals and spectators.
I won't marshal on it even if it comes back here, someone will be making a packet out of getting all the marshals to stand out in the cold for a mars bar. Point to cite, SDMC weren't mentioned in the programme despite you, Gav and Bob dragging your arses all the way to cardiff at your own expense.
WRC, thanks but no thanks. I get more from watching the amateurs.

To be honest, the Rally of a little bit of GB doesn't appeal to me at all. Small numbers of cars, spectator pens and hugely inflated prices at the end of a helleva long drive mean it's not for me.
Rather put me feet up and watch it on the telly.

I take them points onboard to a certain point. Last years programme did include the SDMC name (yr before it didnt). We get more than a mars bar... more than any other event gives... but there is over two thousand marshals to supply, so its never going to be financially viable to go to extremes.
I have never been treated badly or abused by the organisers... in fact been treated well. If i ever was... i would leave.
You would happily marshal on a local event with no reward at all.... so you cant use that old chestnut on RGB in all honesty.
seems to me that theres too much anamousity based on thin excuses by many people in the North. My opinion is everyone took the huff when it moved down south. WRC changes meant it had to compact itself... it just happens that Wales is where it ended up.
If the Welsh take the huff when it moves up here.... what will we think of them??? Its just the way it is. |

| Well the grapevine says the rally GB team will bring all their own marshals (licenced) and expect the Northen clubs to man the service area, gates and car parks, so if that turns out to be true would you still go? |

well i dont know what grapevine that came from but common sense says its rubbish.
Car parks and gates are not run by marshals. And... MSA is hardly going to bring loads of welsh marshals up in coaches etc.
we will be asked to run our own neck of the woods just as Wales ran theirs. Altho dont forget that there are Stage commanders in Wales who are from up here.
i'm bored now... bored with same arguments about UK round of the World Championship that we should be happy we still have. Regarless... I will still go and will have a great time as always. Certainly better enjoyment than today brought. |

I'll stop rubbishing rally GB as long as no one rubbishes sprints, hillclims and SV rallies.
Each to their own. |

i agree .. each to their own.
but.... i dont rubbish sprints etc as an attack on you... quite simply... today was crap. i get bored with sprints (altho i endure that to help wigton at our local venue) and SV Airfield rallies. They are not my cup of tea.
If you want to rubbish Rally GB , then do it on its own merits and not just cause someone rubbishes sprints etc. |

I can guarantee you that there's been no huff taking from me.
I go to watch very few of the big National motorsport events of any kind, and pretty much never go to any of the International events be they rallies, bikes or cars.
It's doubtful that I would go and see the WRC if it was up here either. I stand by my earlier agreement to Martin's comment that I get much more enjoyment from watching the smaller 'club' events than watching the bigger International events.
That's just me, but each to their own. Doesn't make me any less of a motorsport fan.

Dave, i would just like to point out that back in 1996, SDMC were out marshalling in a snow covered Hamsterley forest in the dark! I won't
travel to Wales out of principal. The RAC used to be a national event
and i feel as if we were 'robbed' of our share of WRC action years
