There doesn't seem to be a lot of press for the TOH, are we pushing it enough?

Well for a finish line radio I was a lot busier than anticipated! I'm not sure whether the weather helped or hindered, if it didn't rain the midges got you!

Drove back from the end of SS2/7 to the whitegates at the grove and honestly thought I was going to get stuck. One severely cut up corner did it's best to drag me in!

A few minor issues to polish up but 10/10 for a first time effort.

Did anyone hear that apalling wailing noise in Hamsterley yesterday? It was awful! Sounded like a cheap police siren. It came and went, came and went then disappeared when Dave's Frontera came round the corner......I thnk he scared it away.

ha ha...   not quite accurate..  went off After SS1.   never mind..  werent the only officials to end up in a ditch.

As for the cheap siren...  wasnt that bad. In fact what you dont know is that it is a WRC siren....  as used on Rally Argentina on their course cars... so, if its good enough for the world Championship, its good enough for the ToH.   i have to say though..  me and Bob laughed at the Spec safety siren...  that was barely audible...  now that Did sound like a cheap siren.

Have to say though,,, the radios seemed busy all day. Stock 4 had a busy day, and i was in hysterics early on listening to the the discussions on who is who in the 'stock' callsign range.   Ste A ".....err... Stock one is our Dave......  Stock 3 is.....  Stock 5 is....."
Steve W "well i'll have Stock 6 then......."

Thank you to all who turned out and marshalled on the event including the full Stock callsigns (incl. an extra one) and all other operators. Hope you all had a great day with no major problems.

sorry for those who did have problems..  like Geoff Dale with a holed sump.

Martin...  i am under the impression that you hadn't recieved either Newsletter 3, or SS2 Marshal access instructions..  is this correct?  (Stage commanders and Radio co-ordinator sent these out to all their marshals about a week before the event).

No newsletter 3 or 4, no sign on map ref.

From what I saw yesterday it would have been better if marshals had signed on in the grove where there was plenty of space and the entrance to SS1 wouldn't have become a car park.

I presume Geoffs car was the "ginetta" that required rcovery from in stage.
