Hiya Guys - what a fab day - thanks for making me and Helen feel really welcome it was a priviledge to race with you all.  I was very pleased (despite being 23rd) with my performance since I got a PB on laptime so well chuffed with that.  Improving with every race so that's encouraging.

Pics are great - brilliant!

Thanks again - oh and just to add another 'further afield' - Helen's from Stoke!

Well done on a great race

I never got to talk to you Jason - sounds like you had a close encounter
with one of the lady racers!

As the series organiser all these comments make me fell it is worthwhile. Highly competitive, rewarding and fun at the same time.

Simon is a great photographer, no doubt on that, I love the pictures where you can acually see the rain!

Emspem with a PB including the extra chicane, You were going well!

I am very proud of the way the championship is going, yes Chris Roe has the edge but it ain't over til it's over and like all good championships we go in to the final round again with the title to be decided.

Only 35 spaces, have you reserved yours?

Yup I'd be very pleased with myself if I were you.

Each time I go I get another PB so I'm obviously not at the limit of my potential yet - just gotta lose some weight, put on some muscle - upper body and hopefully post even better results.

I'm aching today something chronic - running 5km in a tt on Sat, then walking two big dogs 6 miles and then getting slightly drunk and dancing for 3 odd hours on Sat night didn't help and then there was karting - oh dear - I feel ancient

Jason - guy in red suit? - Helen was letting him past when someone else she'd just past came down inside - left nowhere to go - unavoidable unfortunately!

Rofl - it meant stop kissing me and move away from my ass
I was well aware you guys were there - if you're quick enough - you should have been able to pass without the contact

Tis all good fun though - middle finger wasn't a serious gesture

Guy in the red suit was myself, Helen has stayed out wide going down into the corner after the pit exit, as ive moved out to come past someones come from a mile back to try to overtake us both which was never going to work but by then i was a few laps down anyway after breaking a steering arm so i wasn't too bothered with my trip to the barrier.

"Rubbin's racin'" or so the movie said.

although  "if you're quick enough - you should have been able to pass without the contact  " is a very true statement.

Well the rain dance didn't work did it?

Well it did where I was (unless the bloke in front had a problem!)
The brief spell of rain certainly made it "testing", my only regret is that I was caught out by how quick the grip came back and lost ground being too cautious for too long. Another lesson learnt.

Martin, just have to say, it's pleasing to know you are getting some satisfaction out of it, the ammount of work you put into being series organiser is mighty impressive and even more so considering you hardly ever get to enjoy track time. Anybody else care to second that?
A message for somebody in red overalls, as we converged on the clubhouse chicane, it may seem I was trying to turn right into you, but in fact my kart was skewing sideways and try as I might, I couldn't get it away from yours - apologies for an untidy overtaking manouvre.
And a final word on "that plastic chicane" - thought this one was better than the 24hour, a bit less intimidating, but had more or less the same effect.

I had another fairly poor race, qualified down in 23rd which I was really shocked at, yeah the kart was a dog, but Bob explained that at the end.  Got nerfed into the barriers on Lap 1 by someone's rather ambitious dive down the inside, continued on and battled my way up the field.

Rammed a girl from behind after some slipstreaming - she saw the yellow flag and I hadn't.  Sorry, normally I ask permission first.

The rain was awesome.  Wet lines for a lap and a half then back to full dry lines, think I made up a lot of ground during the brief wet spell.  Had a really good mid-race race with a guy in black/orange suit, sorry I don't know his name.

Trundled round in about 15th, someone who'd spun off ahead decided to right themselves whilst a pack of traffic approached him.  Two missed, I got hit and into the tyres again.  Continued on round, not having a very exciting race, let the leader go past on the final lap and finished.

Chris has been awesome and I've been awful lately, so he fully deserves his lead!

Agree with that - I coped mentally ok with that one and didn't lift - much preferred it to 24hr one - good stuffs

i wasnt to impressed by it, it didnt have the same thrill factor as before. But I suppose from a safety point of view, a 'non-lifter' would approach a 'lifter' at quite a pace through the esses. And if the 'non-lifter' tried to pass through the esses it would get quite tight.

Like I saw on the last race.

The other part of the challenge on the previous version of the chicane was approaching it flat out in the dark no know exactly where it was going to be on the approach depending on if it had been hit or not  that lap, not to mention that it was  in the darkest bit of the circuit.

If it's there to save engines, and people aren't lifting, surely this is defeating the point ;)

I said exactly the same thing to the track before the last round and they believe that if one driver does ease off, anybody behind is also forced to. Don't think that's a strong argument as all the drivers who take that flat out are up the front anyway.

I'm happy that it has been modified and sooooooooooo glad we have a superb track on our doorstep.
