Probably worth having a little look into.  I reckon a lot of teams would use the ones from Argos, so there would maybe be a problem with interference.  It makes a surprising difference to your performance when you get the hurry up from a team who are watching your times.

Yes, that was the cause of my strop, lack of info from the pitwall.

You mean Dave on the pit wall isn't inspiring enough?? He was worth at
least half a second a lap to us!
Intercom's would be brilliant, you could order your breakfast and all sorts!

Were you 'rolling' with pitboards.  They are useful, but you can convey a lot more information with a radio.

you prob can, but dont under estimate how much info was going through that pit board....
lap times,
current position,
next car in front and behind number and time difference,
remaining time of current drivers stint,
when to come in to pits including refuel info,
notice to stay out (in event of changed strategy),

the one thing it gave drivers apart from the info on it... is encouragement that someone is there following your progress rather than just being out there alone for 45 mins (or 90 mins as in some of our double stints)

Not doubting the pitboards at all, just know that radios can work really well.  Have used them in the past, when doing team races.  Pit strategy is helped as you can make a call really late to stay out or come in, depending on pitlane traffic.  You can even tell them which fuel bay to go to, or which side of the pitlane to park in.  All may save a few seconds each stop.

yes,  a bit of a mistake on my part... was quite busy at that time giving Ste his info to make up one complete lap on Martin who was out at same time. There were some really exiting races...  like in last hour trying to make one more place up passing team next to us (93). Catching at 2 secs / lap, we were showing a pit board, while the team next to us just gesticulating to a confused driver....  Anyway, with short time remaining and us 16secs behind at 2 secs/lap faster... they had to make a splash & dash which gave us one place.
Full marks to Team B drivers who responded to info and drove superbly.

i dont think we could save any more time for pit stops, our pit board was on entrance to pit lane and gave a last second instruction if needed. We also employ a 'lollipop' board in pits so the driver always goes straight to the correct spot without any delays.

Radios are something we have considered, but it is a question of cost to have the kit and working for every driver. Not dismissed, but would be used if we have the opportunity of a reliable system

I knew there had to be a good reason why you turned down an all
expenses paid weekend of motorsport in South Bank! We even had the
penthouse sweet booked - Steve had it all to himself!

Yeah very kind offer offer Col

Spent friday afternoon at Dovenby Hall meeting the guys I'll be joining the Stobart WRC team as a lifing administrator next season basically the job entails data gathering and projections on what parts need to be replaced and when on the cars in a nutshell & without getting all technical. Also testing and development of new parts so I'll be travelling to all the northern hemisphere rounds, with the possibility of going further afield if required, obviously I'll also be at all of our testing in Greystoke and around Europe.

Cant wait!!!

yes i def will be there again next year going to try and put a bit of extra weight on to protect thy ribs already working on a new strategy and sorry martin you will be team c not b get to the back of the que but i have to say to everyone involved this year well done and big improvements from everyone. And i still cant believe i passed warren on the track what a great manouvre even if i do say so myself. But the best race was between Martin and Atilla battling away for lap after lap with Atilla getting the upperhand YEHA
