Not what you were thinking!
Dear All,
I am writing to request marshals for the Maple Garage Beaver Road Rally,
which Beverley & District Motor Club is running next weekend (on the
night of 24th/25th November) in East & North Yorkshire.
The rally is running over 150 miles on maps 106 (Market Weighton) and
101 (Scarborough), and starts and finishes at Park Rose Pottery in
Carnaby, near Bridlington (Map 101, reference 130636). Part of the rally
is running on Driffield Airfield, and all marshals on there are required
to wear a tabard or reflective jacket, so please bring one if you have one.
There are already 39 crews entered in the event, and we are expecting
more in the next week. The event was the most popular event in both the
ANCC and ANEMMC championships last year.
Marshals’ signing on will be at the start venue from 8pm until 10pm, and
we will welcome marshals whether experienced or novices. Plenty of
marshals’ goodies will of course be available, and for any crews who
marshal at least two controls, we will provide two free breakfasts at
the finish venue.
If you would like to come and marshal, please e-mail me or give me a
ring beforehand, and I will book you into some controls. I will also be
able to tell you which maps you will need, to save you having to buy any
more than necessary. If you don’t manage to get in touch, you will still
be welcome at signing on, and I will find something for you to do, but
of course I cannot guarantee time controls.
If there are any other people you know who might also like to come and
marshal for us, please feel free to pass on the details to them. If you
