First victory and leading from pole!!!

Also leading the world championship!!

Dont "normally" follow F1 or any other circuit races as I dont like to watch cars going round in circles but hats off to hamilton on some epic work!!

What must alonso be thinking?? If I was him I'd be gutted the no. 2 driver who is skinning your times and beating you, the world champion, and its his first season.

He's good no doubt and certainly has the brain of some one like Prost or Schumacher but has he the raw talent of Jim Clark, Gilles Villeneuve or Ayrton Senna?

Hamilton was good on Sunday but let's have a bit of praise for the driver of the day Sato san.

while I agree Sato did a great job, my preference for driver of the day was Hamilton. I think he showed tremendous composure on every restart considering the pressure he must of been feeling to win his first GP.

The Canadian GP was the first in a long time that I didn't sleep through

After todays Japanese GP where Alonso blew it under pressure Lewis has one hand on the title!

worth a bet...... works out at a 4% return on your money... I might put a few hundred grand on it.... say £250 000, if he wins... i'll be richer to the tune of £10 000. can't sniff at that...

pressure indeed. to be fair he's expected to win the title if he doesnt all people will say for the rest of his career is that he "could" or "should" have won the title in his inaugural season.

I would imagine Lewis must be thinking along the lines of something that rhymes with "clucking bell".

gutted for sure. His race was scuppered from the start really after that corner.

Sums up English sports really what with the rugby and all.

Even if he was leading after the first lap, the gearbox fault would have created the same outcome as he was never really held up in his fight back.

at the beginning of the season I would of predicted only one thing... that he would win his first F1 race this season. It turned out to be the most entertaining season for years which went right to the wire with the top 3 seperated by 1 point.

However dissapointed we are, it is nowhere near as much as he will be. I can't fault the guy and I think its a when, not an if he will win his first F1 title.

Lewis Hamilton has been banned from driving for a month after being caught speeding on a French motorway.

The McLaren Mercedes driver was clocked at nearly 200km/h near the town of Laon on Sunday, with police fining him 600 euros and confiscating his car – which has since been collected on his behalf.

"He was very polite and co-operative," a French police spokesman told Reuters.

That's just his dinner money.

It's a shame he didn't do that in Brasil.
