The Lion stages in Kidland forest is looking likley to be a 1400cc only rally. approx 40 stage miles with an much reduced entry fee.

Discussions taking place with current promoters Alnwick MC and 1400 Rally club to see whats what but Mid August is planned.  Good intro to the woods with notes by Pattersons as far as I know.

Watch this space for more info.......
Steve

Martin - yo should try it....might be able to get you some used yokos for £20 a piece try the real rallying in the trees.......

1400 only event and a bbq/ party after.

Not really interested, funny thing is all my life I wanted to do a stage rally and when I did one it left me cold, I would far rather do a sprint or hill climb- strange but true.

There is loads of craic at the sprints and there is a good little community in the under 1400s class, buy an AX/ Saxo/ Rallye/ Fiesta/ Nova/ Corsa/ Micra/ Polo/ Lupo/ Mini for a few hundred quid and you are up and running.

Anyway don't pin everything on me, I am old  , we need more of you youngsters out there.

You are not that old marti. You still have a few years before you reach your 6oth.    Look at D Coulthard 37 and still in F1 (ok maybe not much kop but still there)

good point tho Martini, however do you not think that sprints lack that sense of achievement you get when you finish a stage rally, a proper stage rally not a SV?

Another point Dereck made on saturday was that sprints are at the mercy of the weather so people could be disadvantaged by a downpour when you have just blasted round a dry track.

each to their own at the end of the day.

Luck of the draw, same can be said of a rally if someone chooses dry tyres and then is rains.

valid point, but surely the effect of rain is more pronouced on tarmac than gravel?
