well as a starter....

Stage - Was always the Great Orme - Llandudno - but would have to be Molls Gap now.
Rally - Killarney Historic - Tar
         Dukeries - Forest
         Hamsterley - Local (of course)

single venues like croft have thier place but not for me......

Steve

I can only reply as a spectator, it will be a year or two before I can afford to buy a rally car.

Can I still submit an answer?

It will be a short thread if you can only post if you rallied!

I drove Moll's gap and Sally gap in hire cars at a sedate pace, I must say they are both epic.

did it say you have to compete....?

you can have a fav spot even just to marshal/spectate etc

Molls Gap...has all yu want from a stage.. fast flowing, twisty, bumpy, jumps drops, rock faces, bridges, tunnel mint.... in the datsun was spot on....... imagine with Bertie fisher in the manta 400 or M3...

I have Mcrae as course car on Rally of the lakes doing the "gap" and as the irish say competing over there you only get thier respect by "hinging the ass out" - sideways......

favourite stages...

swinton crossroads are always a laugh as is the JCR as a whole the camping at rally HQ partying with all the boys then out in Kelso sunday night and the drive up and down the A68

another speccy point I love is Leighton Hill used on cheviot and lindisfarne...the stage is a angle whereby the anti lag echoes right off a bit of forest and it sounds awesome with about a second delay. Never forget it!

gravel rallies...hmmmm cant think of a bad stage to be fair

I've either driven, marshalled or spectated on well over 100 stages but if I had to choose it would be. Tarmac:- Bothwell or Abbey on the Jim Clark

Forest: Harwood(near Rothbury) or Myherin(mid Wales)

Mind you there are some great stages on the Isle of Man which no-one has mentioned !

Good point derek...harwood is spot on as a forest.....Border uses it this weekend I think.

Enjoyed having the transit sideways when we ran the Autoglass in way back!!!!!! and the claim to fame....we did the stage when the Escort Cosworth driven by a younger Malcolm Wilson with Neil Wilson his miserable co driver made its debut on an stage event..... I did the 5,4,3,2,1....

And when we ran it on the RAC and postie held up the proceedings!
