I thought that it would be interesting to see how things have come on since our humble beginnings

My first car RJA 476 W, 998cc of mechanical trauma, and it was yellow!

Things got a bit better with D26 FDC a fiesta XR2, nice car but insurance went from £477 to £1500 in 9 months! It had to go.

E 788 FJR a capable, fast 205 XS 13600 and could nail an RS Turbo or red top astra from the lights. Had some great times in this including a 5th O/A on the 1995 Costa rally.

M490 SDC Nissan Micra Super S, 1275cc won the novice class of the Tyneside Motorsport Group Navigational rally series in this.

We also had L604 HHN, sally's pride and joy which I killed on Danby Beacon.

Black Mk1 XR2 looks nice in the pic, how misleading, the biggest dog I have ever owned, so bad I cannot recall the reg! I sold it before I was killed!

Emergency measures and economy led to F841 VHN an unassuming Micra 1.0LS, never cost me a penny and it even did a Hartlepool autotest!

OVH 183 T, replica escort, 2.0 Pinto, great fun, but just never had the time or money to put it to full use, owned it for 10 years, yes I know, what a dickhead for selling it.

A couple of lean years meant lease cars, firstly 2 Micras Y841 HFT and Y 895 HFT, these were followed up by 2 Corsa's YE02YUG and YE 02 YSM, strangely no pics.....

Then the legend that is the Sunny, the best car I ever owned....so far.

I then had G198 JUB a company 205 1.8 diesel van and at this time we bought N 200 SSX which met an untimely end  in a lamp post, written off and resurrected and living in Middlesbrough, a major insurance fiddle by the body shop!

Then it was VU 05 UWK, a true work horse pounding the A19 daily.

The Sunny was dead and "The Pug" N822 WGM was drafted in as a replacement in Nov 2006

In between we also had "The loaner" S 246 KHN or the mother in laws Fiesta as it was also known, then in a moment of madness HN 02 VJF joined the fleet.

Good effort for that post Peacock!!

My timeline, though sans pictures is as follows...

first car  @ 17 Orion 1.6i ghia

after that it was a bland and slow Astra 1.4 "merit" though i couldnt find any. Always remember snapping the cambelt on the M6 then getting towed all the way home from Cov to Aycliffe (AA = Godsend) Cost about 400 to put right or 350 if you count the petrol saved driving home from uni.

Crashed astra through a metal gate and even though it drove it failled its MOT on a "warped and bent chassis"

As I was at uni my budget wasnt huge so its replacement was a "retro" 1.2i 4 speed nova which served me well on the longs trips up and down to cov during uni hols.

It could go on more after getting cancer of the metal and was condemned after an MOT.

As I had just graduated and was working propely I decided to take a "small" step up and got a 2.5 V6 Vectra Sri with my first pay packet.

that was 3 years ago and the old is still going well.

I will be looking to replace her in the next year or so but who knows what the next chariot will be.......

TBC!

I wonder if Dave will be Quattro-Frontera?

If Skodaman had carried on like he did from 17-21 his list would be very long, thankfully he calmed down after about 20 cars in 5 years.

My elder brothers Fiesta XR2 was relieved from the driveway overnight a
long time ago.

Other than that we have a write off apiece.
