As the WRGB is upon us, I have been reminising lately (as I often do) about the good ole days of the RAC rally. So, to wake some of you up (this is a forum, not a cemetary), lets share some memories.

Here's a few keywords to get your minds into gear.... Lombard, William Woolard, £5 per car, Tony Mason, Killer Kielder, Grizzley Grizedale, 5 days long, Clumber park, Beetle, Trabant, volvo taxi, Rallypacks, seeing 3 - 4 different stages in a day, no stage used more than once, Brian & Liz pattersons up to the minute news sheets, ......... etc

If that hasn't sparked your imagination, your either too young, or on the wrong website

I have lots of fond memories of the RAC and not one of the Wales rally GB, need i say more?

Hamsterly, Grizedale, Wykeham, Cropton, Dalby, Pundershaw, Shephershield etc, always a week off work to follow the event and loads of TV, now I hardly feel compelled to watch the coverage never mind go to the event.
